Blogging has been soooooo tiring these few days, firing up the electrons in what’s left between my ears has been so hard. Too hard, that I will want to go zzzzzzzzzz. Nothing exciting has been around lately, save for the cyclone hurricane from Nadi, flooding the West, what I heard, my partner’s boat capsizing, drowning her camera along with a few others, nothing much happened.
Life is all about the little facts that matter. Small little facts, such as how European admonishes the use of personal cutleries in group dishes, as evident in the most posh Indian restaurant in town, so, should one retain the culture of one-self or just blend in. Before I make any sarcastic remarks, it is interesting to note, to my surprise, nationalities stereotype are surfacing over these 2 weeks. Germans being Germans, Australians being Australians, Fijians being Fijians, Singaporeans being Singaporeans as such. It is funny because as much as people does not want to admit that they display qualities of their nation’s stereotype, they do. Well, I can see that German being logical, Australian being Outgoing, Fijians being Friendly, Asians keeping to themselves, American being outspoken and et Cetra. Although not much of an observation, as an anthropologist, it fascinates me as people from a country will somehow assume the stereotypical role despite the fact that they have no such attributes in their home country.
Again, I still could not find something that is evil to do. Where is the Bula that we have been promised?
Greatest regret this week is that I did not catch the second boat. I seriously thinks that it is fun getting thrown into the water, maybe it is just me. Better do something this weekend that is fun to prevent a full psychological breakdown. Ouch. I think switching to office mode during an internship is not a really good idea, which is efficient but at the same time, prone to breakdowns.
